Eclectic Education
I combine three models of learning to meet the needs of all children. My curriculum is designed in alignment with the Early Childhood Indicators of Progress.

Montessori-Inspired
Our daily routine includes Montessori-inspired activities. These are based on the 5 areas of learning:
-
Practical life (care of person and environment)
-
Sensorial (learning through 5 senses)
-
Language (phonetics and writing)
-
Mathematics (math concepts)
-
Cultural (geography, nature, history, science, art, music)
Lessons are child centered with flexibility of choice and allowed movement.

Reggio Emilia-Inspired
Our daily routine includes principles from the Reggio Emilia education model. In this approach, children take an active approach to their own learning and are collaborators along with their parents and myself (third teacher). Key principles include:
*Child-directed learning
*Outdoor environment, and use of senses
*Children have relationships with materials and environment (family, community, culture, history)
*Project work (process art)
*Documentation (pictures and documenting of learning)
*100 languages (strengths)
*Open ended questions and toys
*Home-like feel environment
*Emphasis on Parental involvement

Charlotte Mason-Inspired
We also focus on several Charlotte Mason-inspired foundations with overlap in many areas:
Habits (manners, independence, responsibility)
Outdoor Play
Living books (3-5 times a day)
Enrichment and Beauty (handicrafts, art, music, poems etc)
Bible (we read not only bible stories, but a variety of genres text)
